Dan Whitfield.
A personal portfolio of website design.
Here’s some more info on me...
I started out designing full Flash websites and other Flash content, my first major project for a full Flash site was for Flash Design Studios. I quickly became more and more interested in XHTML and the endless possibilities of CSS, creating higher and higher quality websites as my skills grew. I also turned my hand successfully to graphic design for my websites.
After creating numerous great websites using static XHTML and CSS I decided to take up PHP to expand my knowledge base even further and generate dynamic websites that users and administrators alike would find easier and faster to use and update. I really took to PHP like a duck to water, I quickly understood the benefits of object-oriented programming and optimised database queries.
Once I had mastered PHP I decided to use AJAX on some of my websites to improve usablility, it was at this time when I became a wizard with JavaScript and JavaScript libraries such as jQuery.
I have completed a diploma in website design which includes the use of Flash, Dreamweaver, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript, I received a distinction for my work.
As well as working full time for a digital agency I am working towards a degree in Computing which will encompas the use of Java technologies. I also enjoy developing using C# and am looking to build new skills with Objective C and Xcode to build iPhone apps.
